Privacy notice

Written to be understood on the first read. The important part fits in one line: your files never leave your device.

The headline: your files are never sent to any server When you use a Utiliobox tool, the file you drop is opened and processed inside your own browser. It is not uploaded, copied, stored or inspected on any machine of ours or anyone else's, not even temporarily. We could not look at it if we wanted to: technically it never reaches us.

Who is responsible

This website is operated by Marluna Studio LLC, a company registered in the United States, which runs the domain utiliobox.com. You can reach us at [email protected] about anything in this notice or about your data.

The files you process

This is worth spelling out, because it is what makes the site different: the documents, images and other files you open in our tools never leave your device. The engine that does the work downloads into your browser and runs there, on your computer or phone. There is no upload, no temporary server-side storage and no processing queue. That is why the tools keep working if you disconnect from the internet after the page has loaded, and why you will not find a file-retention period here — there is nothing to retain.

The direct consequence: we have no access to what you process, we cannot recover it if you lose it, and we cannot hand it to anyone, including an authority that asked for it.

What we do collect

Two things only, and neither of them is your files:

  • Site usage statistics. Aggregate data about which pages are visited, from what kind of device and from roughly which country, so we know which tools are worth improving. It is not used to identify you.
  • Advertising. Once advertising is live and you have accepted it, the ad provider (Google AdSense) may use cookies and identifiers to serve ads and measure them. That processing is carried out by the provider under its own policy, and is explained in our cookie policy and third-party ads notice.

In addition, as on any website, the server that delivers the pages logs basic technical request data (IP address, browser, timestamp) for security and operational reasons.

Preferences stored in your browser

Three preferences are kept in your browser's local storage, not on a server: your chosen language, your light or dark theme, and your cookie decision. They stay on your device and you can remove them by clearing the site's data in your browser.

Legal basis and purpose

Aggregate statistics and technical server logs are processed under legitimate interest in keeping the site running and knowing whether it is useful. Personalised advertising and its cookies are processed only with your consent, which we ask for through the cookie banner and which stays refused until you actively accept.

Who it is shared with

We do not sell or trade personal data. The only third parties that may process data are the analytics provider, the advertising provider and the site's hosting provider, each within the scope of its own service. As these providers are established in the United States, an international transfer of data may take place under whatever legal mechanisms those providers have in place.

Your rights

You may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability or objection regarding any personal data we may hold, by writing to [email protected]. Note that for the files you process there is nothing to exercise: we never receive them. You can also withdraw advertising consent at any time from the Cookies link in the footer, and lodge a complaint with your country's data protection authority.

Children

The site is not aimed at children under 14 and does not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes to this notice

If anything material changes we will update this page and the date below. Changes affecting advertising consent will be asked for again through the banner.
